Editorial & Publishing Policies

The Field & Formula is committed to the highest standards of publishing ethics, scientific integrity, and transparent editorial workflows. By submitting a manuscript to our magazine, authors agree to adhere to the following core policies.

1. Open Access & Copyright Licensing

  • Open Access: All articles published in The Field & Formula are completely free for readers to access, download, and share. We do not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs).
  • Author Copyright: Authors retain the full copyright to their work. You are simply granting GranthaX Publication the right of first publication.
  • Creative Commons: Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This allows others to share and adapt your work for non-commercial purposes, provided they give appropriate credit to you and our magazine.

2. Expedited Expert Desk Review

To meet our commitment of a rapid, one-week publication turnaround, we utilize an Expedited Expert Desk Review process rather than a traditional, multi-month double-blind peer review.

  • Upon submission, the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board perform a rigorous initial assessment to ensure the manuscript meets our standard for scientific accuracy and practical agricultural value.
  • Submissions that lack clarity, contain unverified scientific claims, or fail to offer actionable insights for our readership will be returned to the author for revision or declined.

3. Originality & Embracing the AI Era

Our primary goal is to share practical agricultural knowledge. We recognize that writing can be time-consuming for busy field experts and researchers, so we fully embrace modern tools to help bridge that gap.

  • AI as a Writing Partner: We actively encourage authors to utilize Artificial Intelligence tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to outline, draft, translate, or refine the grammar of their articles. You do not need to hide your use of AI in the drafting process.
  • Scientific Accountability: While AI is a powerful tool for generating text, the human author bears absolute responsibility for the final output. Authors must carefully review all AI-generated content to ensure the agronomic advice, formulas, and scientific claims are accurate, safe, and practical for real-world application.
  • Respecting Copyright: While we encourage AI generation, authors must still respect intellectual property. If you are directly referencing specific data (like IMD advisories or GKMS reports), quoting another scientist's exact words, or using third-party photographs, please provide appropriate credit.

4. Competing Interests & Disclosures

To maintain the trust of our agricultural readership, all authors must transparently disclose any financial, commercial, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing their work.

  • If an author receives funding, holds patents, or owns a commercial agribusiness related to the products, crops, or technologies discussed in their article, a brief "Disclosure of Interest" statement must be included at the end of the manuscript.
  • The editorial team evaluates all disclosures to ensure the published article remains objective and science-based, rather than serving as a direct commercial advertisement.

5. Corrections and Post-Publication Discussions

Because The Field & Formula publishes actionable scientific data and formulas for field application, accuracy is paramount. However, we recognize that unintentional errors can occur.

  • Corrections: If a significant error is discovered in a published article (such as an incorrect metric, formula, or dosage), the editorial team will publish a formal "Correction" notice that links directly to the updated article.
  • Retractions: In rare cases of severe scientific miscalculation, ethical breaches, or fabricated data, the magazine reserves the right to formally retract the article to protect the integrity of the scientific record and the safety of our farming community.
